About the Role
The HITH ANUM, in collaboration with the HITH Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), is responsible for the provision of high quality clinical service delivery, efficient operations, effective mentoring, and leadership of the HITH Nursing team.  In partnership with and/or the absence of the NUM, the HITH ANUM will manage the clinical, professional and operational resources of the unit. The HITH ANUM reports directly to the HITH NUM, and will support the NUM in achieving specific Key Performance Indicators, including reporting unexpected outcomes and recruiting. The position works in partnership with the HITH medical, nursing and allied health staff to provide patient-centered care and optimize use of this bed-based substitution model of care.  

  • Provide clinically-advanced and comprehensive assessment, care planning, treatment implementation, ongoing review and education of HITH patients and their carers within nursing’s professional framework boundaries

  • Demonstrate contemporary clinical leadership to the HITH nursing team, including trouble-shooting clinical incidents, mitigating operational risks and escalating concerns to HITH NUM or Medical staff as appropriate

  • Deputise for the NUM in periods of leave

  • Work collaboratively with the Nurse Intake Coordinators and provide backfill and resource as required

  • Act as a mentor and role model to staff, establishing and communicating clinical and behavioural expectations  

Classifications for this position will range from  YW15 ($107,952 per annum) pro rata


Your Contribution

  • Relevant clinical experience within the community setting and/or across a broad range of acute medical/surgical services

  • Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal skills including problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation and teaching.

  • Experience working with clients with multiple comorbidities and complex care needs that impact safety, function and independence.

  • Excellent organisational, coordination and time management skills.

  • Current nursing registration with AHPRA

  • Current Driver’s Licence • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain and Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

Hospital in the Home (HITH) is a progressive, multi-disciplinary team providing acute-equivalent care beyond the traditional hospital walls via a bed-substitution and Emergency Department-diversion model. 

Some of the specialties HITH manages includes: anti-viral infusions; COVID care (for medium-risk patients); highrisk foot wound management; palliative care; post-anaesthetic recovery care; anticoagulation; iron infusions; noncytotoxic chemotherapy; general medicine; preoperative surgical preparation, TPN management, IV electrolyte replacement, comprehensive patient care.
