The opportunity:  In the Client Manager, Captive role, you will work directly with the Senior Client Managers, Captive and the Captive Underwriting team to manage sold case and renewal inventory.  The Client Manager, Captive also works with captive relationships, brokers, and third-party administrators (TPA) to manage complex service inquiries.  This Client Manager, Captive is required to look for creative ways to solve our customers’ problems and bring them to resolution. This position is a key strategic relationship management resource for policyholders, brokers, third-party administrators (TPA), Captive Partnerships and the SLF organization. This position is focused on internal and external partnerships and strategies that will result in long-term growth and persistency in our Captive business. This includes but is not limited to new business and renewal activity, policy implementation, claims issues, broker compensation issues, and revision requests. This position requires strong negotiation skills to influence decisions that meet both customer needs and the company’s goals and priorities. 


How you will contribute: 

  • Partnering with Captive Underwriting and the SCC on the implementation and execution of new business and renewal activity.
  • Maintaining an effective new business and renewal pipeline for each Captive unit.
  • Managing service issues for all in-force policies to ensure customer satisfaction and positively influence persistency.
  • Supporting Captive Underwriting and external Captive Partners with managing renewals.
  • Servicing existing captive relationships, brokers and TPAs by responding to phone calls and e-mails requesting assistance.
  • Maintaining and updating Client Relationship Management system regarding telephone conversations and activities.
  • Develop knowledge of the Captive Stop Loss products, services, processes, and the overall Self-Insured industry and competitive landscape.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance processes and increase efficiency, create solutions, communicate, and implement across the team.
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the Stop Loss products, services and processes, and the overall Self-Insured industry and competitive landscape as it relates to captives.
  • Preparing and distributing marketing materials to the captive relationships, brokers, and TPAs.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal service departments to oversee resolution of issues.

 What you will bring with you: 

  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people
  • 1+years of Group Insurance / Stop Loss Insurance experience preferred.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Experience using CRM tools
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal (with strong telephone presence)
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiation, persuasion, and solutionsbased service requiring cross departmental involvement.
  • Proven record of providing strong and effective customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize daily/weekly working structure to meet business activity goals and captive client needs while maintaining a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is: 

  • Southern California region: $61,700-$92,600 annually
  • Central California region: $65,000-$97,500 annually
  • Northern California region: $69,500-$104,300 annually

If you are a Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $58,900-$88,400 annually

If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $61,700-$92,600 annually

If you are Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $65,000-$97,500 annually

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $69,500-$104,300 annually
