Major Duties:

  • Lead all aspects of powered industrial vehicle (PIV) planning for new and non-new model activities, including:
  • Apply SPW principles to all applicable areas of PIV fleets
  • Establish EEM process for PIV and Charging Equipment
  • Establish AM/PM standards/calendars for PIV and Charging Equipment
  • Ensure SPW best practices for PIV safety are executed
  • Support plant/corporate activities to increase horizontal (Tugger) material delivery
  • PIV Sizing/Capacity requirements (Vehicle Sizing, Features Needed)
  • PIV Charging strategy and execution, including traditional battery room set up/installation, rapid charge set up/installation, off-site charging set up/installation, etc.
  • Write/Review plant PIV projects
  • Establish and maintain standard PIV equipment definitions with purchasing and ensure compatibility with plant operations
  • Research, validate and implement new technologies (Fuel Cells, Rapid Charge, etc.), including NPV and/or benefit/cost analysis
  • Maintain master PIV fleet inventory and conduct annual capacity reviews
  • Coordinate turn-in, transfer, procurement and deployment of PIV fleets with plant material handling engineers
  • Manage timeline for new fleet implementations, including new and non-new model applications
  • Provide vendor management support w/ purchasing, including PIV equipment Rental, Lease and Purchase activities
  • Establish standard PIV training plans for plant use
  • Conduct PIV maintenance audits at NAFTA facilities and provide countermeasures for chronic and/or emerging issues.

Required Knowledge:

  • List the education, knowledge, skills, experience and training that are necessary to perform the duties of the position.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in PIV fleet management and implementation
