What you will do

The Finance and Accounting Rotational Development Program is a 2.5 year program that develops people who graduated in the last 4 years into future experts and leaders of Johnson Controls (JCI). This is an intensive, exciting program that allows you to fast track your growth and learning. It is a lot of hard work but also a lot of fun!

During the 2.5 years commitment, individuals rotate to new positions every 6 months to gain an overall understanding of accounting and financial responsibilities within Johnson Controls as well as exposure to the various business models within the company.

Your first rotation will be in Bratislava, Slovakia which will also be your base. Thereafter rotations can be in Bratislava and anywhere in Europe or the Middle East based on the possibilities. Only candidates who would be happy to spend the next 2.5 years in a changing environment and eventually moving countries apply.

You will be based in Bratislava, and in case of rotation in other country, you will be provided with travel and housing expenses, as well as a living allowance based on the country you rotate to.

At the successful end of the 2.5 years program, you will have a big opportunity for a permanent position in the organization.

Associates are challenged to take on additional work outside of their day-to-day responsibilities to gain further knowledge and increase their network within the company. Additional training and development and mentorship opportunities are consistently presented to associates and the expectation is that all opportunities will be taken.

How you will do it

All rotations:

  • Hands-on support in the departmental regular tasks and responsibilities

  • Assists departments in simplification and improvement of overall department processes.

  • Assists in the creation of documentation to ensure consistent application and/or interpretation of processes or policies.

  • Data analytics and generating reports

  • Exposure to senior leadership

  • Some of the rotations you might do include a chance to work on the following:

Plant Accounting:

  • Responsible for tracking the financial business transactions that include, but are not limited to accruals, depreciation, Intercompany transactions, cash transactions, etc.

  • Must ensure proper accounts are being charged and accurate records are kept

  • Perform account analysis and timely preparation of reconciliations to ensure balance sheet accuracy including monitoring, tracking, and resolution of remediation items in a timely manner

  • Supports the business units by providing monthly information and analysis to management

  • Ensures compliance to internal controls

Financial Analyst/Field Business Analyst:

  • Provides accounting and analytical financial support to management by working as a financial partner in analyzing ways to improve the profitability of the company

  • Assists in reviewing and interpreting operational results

  • Assists in preparation of the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts. This analysis includes comparisons to previous quarters, projections for future quarters, and changes from previous plan/forecast

  • Assists in the monthly financial commentary and operations reviews, as well as analysis of actual results versus financial plan.

  • Monitors key indicators and trends in both income and trade working capital metrics

  • Reviews market and business data and analyzes trends

Internal Audit:

  • Analyzes processes and documentation to assess the level of compliance with applicable procedures, adequacy of controls, efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and accuracy of reported information

  • Interviews individuals and surveys activities in audit areas assigned

  • Ensures audit approach and work program addresses the highest risk areas

  • Drafts, reviews, and discusses audit findings with Internal Audit management and the management of the audited unit on a timely basis

What we look for:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance

  • Ability to relocate and travel

  • Proficiency Microsoft Office suite

  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities

  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills

  • Go above and beyond the given responsibilities

  • High level of flexibility and open-mind approach

  • Fluency in English

Preferred:

  • Any additional foreign language(s)

  • Highly proficient Excel skills

The gross monthly salary for this position starts from 1600 EUR per month, plus a monthly bonus that starts after your first 6 months. Please note this is a minimum salary and our compensation packages are based on your professional experience and qualifications.
