The Data Science & Innovation department is a core component in the future growth of NTG. We work in collaboration with Sales, Operations, IT, and senior leadership at NTG to execute on strategy that drives both volume and profit growth. We arm our people with data, insights and help tell a story beyond just our data while providing creative solutions to help drive value and growth across all facets of the organization.

We are seeking an experienced Analyst, BI & Data Insights with a passion to solve complex business problems, discover insights & patterns, and drive revenue and decisions based on data intelligence to join our BI & Data Insights team in our growing Data Science & Innovation department. As a BI analyst, you will play a key role in creating effective reports and dashboard, recommending decisions based on detailed analysis, market forecasts and analysis internally as well as for our shipper and carrier partners.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Leverage data to provide consultation to sales and operations to meet shipper and carrier requirements.
  • Create dashboards and reports to measure performance, automate operational processes, and drive revenue and business decisions.
  • Create detailed analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for the business.
  • Assist in effectively using and maintaining both internal and external data sources.
  • Take ownership of organizational initiatives and projects.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Lead ad-hoc analysis to provide actionable insights to the business.
  • Ensure that all departmental deadlines are met.
  • Escalate known issues and highlight areas for process improvement.
     

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field of study, such as finance, accounting, engineering, operations research, math, or statistics
  • 2+ year(s) data analytics experience is preferred
  • Moderate Excel & SQL capabilities with relative experience in data visualization
  • Knowledge of visualization tools: Tableau, SSRS, Python, D3
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Strong time management skills.

SCHEDULING

This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

TRAVEL

Local travel is required. Out of state travel is limited but may be required for special training/conferences.
