Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Global Services and the Apache Spares Engineering Team is currently seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to become part of the Vertical Lift Team in (Mesa, AZ).

The Apache Spares Manufacturing Engineering Team is responsible for providing dynamic component Bills of Material and Work Instructions for US & International Apache aircraft production and post-production requirements for new build, repair and overhaul.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the Boeing Behaviors and First-Time Quality while contributing to the delivery of depot level Apache dynamic component new build, repair and overhaul. The successful candidate will collaborate with teammates across multiple disciplines and functions in our effort to sustain AH-64 and AH-6 products around the globe. The employee will respond to requests, assemble technical data packages, submit recommendations and collaborate with cross-functional and diverse teams to enable quality and producibility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead a manufacturing engineering team in support of new build, overhaul, repair and test of dynamic components for US and International AH-64 Apache fleet.
  • Create/update manufacturing plans/routings in support of Apache aircraft production and post-production in the Deport Repair & Overhaul (DRO) facility using Boeing and customer engineering requirements. This can include dis-assembly, part inspection (repair/re-use/replace), assembly, testing requirements, special process control, tooling procurement and bills of material.
  • Incorporate Engineering Orders.
  • Optimize operational efficiency through business proposals/presentations on continuous process improvements, cost savings, cost reduction initiatives, analysis reports and plans for business efficiencies.
  • Resolve complex technical problems and supplier constraints.
  • Lead technical projects, corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Daily usage of systems such as TeamCenter, REDARS, SAP/MES, Haystack, Microsoft office products and other industry tools for engineering duties.  
  • Work in a fast paced environment located within the shop floor.
  • Communicate and prioritize with multi-functional personnel, management.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

100% On-site:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Mesa, AZ).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Engineering Bills of Material (BOMs) Configuration Management Process.
  • 5+ Experience in Manufacturing Engineering Planning systems such as Product Data Manager (PDM) and Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years’ experience as a manufacturing planner or manufacturing engineer.
  • 10+ years’ experience involving direct fabrication or installation planning activity associated to assembly or manufacturing
  • 5+ years experience with AH-64 Maintenance

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
