Position Summary

The Associate Director of NPIC manages the biological profiling of small molecule compounds, oligonucleotides, and biological agents in the project funded by Needleman Program for Innovation & Commercialization (NPIC). Manages the in vitro, cellular, and in vivo profiling of test articles of different modalities. Oversee the different activities involved in managing drug discovery projects. Interacts with the CROs, analyzes data, interacts with and updates the internal project team, and decides on the next course of action.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the profiling of test articles in drug discovery projects.
  • Oversees the generation of in vitro, cellular and in vivo pharmacology data generated internally or at CROs for the projects.
  • Manages profiling of test articles belonging to different modalities (small molecule, oligo nucleotides, siRNA, biologics, cell therapy, gene therapy, etc.).
  • Identifies, selects, and manages the CROs for these and other biological profiling of test articles.
  • Analyzes the generated data, disseminates to the internal team members, and help decides on the next course of action.
  • Coordinates collection of all necessary data and forwarding to the IP attorney for filing patent applications.
  • Coordinates appropriate agreements, purchase orders, payment of invoices, and related paperwork for the projects.

Salary Range

$154,900.00 - $278,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
