The Senior Communications Manager at Pendo plays a key role in the execution of the company’s earned media strategy, matching creativity and storytelling skills with the ability to secure and amplify top-tier press. This person will report to the senior director of corporate communications and collaborate across the marketing, people and executive teams to help amplify the Pendo brand and story externally.

 

Responsibilities (what you’ll do):

  • Craft and execute external PR campaigns that land media coverage
  • Create media pitches, press releases, blog posts, executive-bylined thought leadership articles, videos, presentations, social copy and other writing and research projects
  • Manage PR agency relationships alongside senior director of communications
  • Support communications strategy by maintaining media and analyst lists, tracking media and analyst coverage, fielding inbound media inquiries, developing briefing materials, and managing awards and speaking submissions.
  • Track all relevant industry coverage, sharing with leadership key developments and continually augmenting our media contacts
  • Collaborate across the marketing team to support and promote campaigns and programs
  • Collaborate across the people team to support and promote employer brand activities 
  • Track and report on communications program results, with an eye toward continuous improvement 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required; preference for PR/communications and/or journalism 
  • 7+ years of communications experience - including at least 3 years in-house — with a track record of leading successful media relations programs
  • Fluency with AP style and other journalistic guidelines
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing and copy editing skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of and experience with the business and tech media landscape
  • Experience collaborating with executives
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed each location is as follows:

  • Raleigh: $107,100 - $133,900
  • New York, NY: $111,400 - $140,400

Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
