SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst serves as an integral part of the Corporate Finance team and assists all Controllers/financial areas by conducting analysis and initiatives related to planning, forecasting, budgeting, variance and trend analysis and other special projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis and accounting principles and methods.
Knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audit programs with ability to apply procedures aptly.
Operational knowledge and understanding of basic data analysis techniques and methodologies.
Skilled proficiency utilizing data modeling and business visualization tools.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works with Controllers and Finance team in the analysis of operational and financial data. Generates reports, ad hoc analyses and recommendations that provide timely insight while enhancing the efficiency, automation and accuracy of existing reports. Assists in the elimination of manual processes and redundancies.
Partners with Finance team members to create detailed models and reports by obtaining, researching, and interpreting data elements from a variety of systems.
Maintains and analyzes rate structure and provide recommendations for changes to accommodate business needs.
Reviews financial information for data integrity and consistency with cost accounting standards (CAS) as implemented by CNI.
Prepares and analyzes monthly cost allocations.
Prepares annual Incurred Cost Proposal submissions.
Maintains cost structure within accounting and forecasting systems to include accounts, orgs and cost pools.
Assists with the development, implementation and maintenance of all related policies and processes.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Supports financial execution, audits and reviews related to the government contract.
Monitors and tracks project expenditures to ensure they align with approved budgets. Identifies and investigates any discrepancies or variances.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field of study and a minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education / experience in Finance, Accounting or Internal Audit. Demonstrated experience in the areas of financial forecasting, planning and budgeting through relevant coursework or on the job experience is required.

Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) and statistical/modeling software. Expert knowledge of Excel and the utilization of data queries and advanced formulas and functions.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to compose meaningful reports and to present research/information with clarity.
Ability to effectively display data in a format that visually demonstrates the value of analytic deliverables.
Ability to employ a collaborative, customer service approach.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment for the successful achievement of goals.
Ability to proactively identify problems and effectively respond; creative problem solving.
Excellent customer service skills and relationship management skills.
Proven ability to perform under pressure and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
