Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our team. While this role will be based in Linthicum, MD, hybrid telecommuting may be considered for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities will encompass the full range of the procurement acquisition process including preparation and execution of a mixed portfolio of purchases while ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures as well as public law requirements. 

Specific tasks will include:

  • Sourcing and procuring specialized goods and services.

  • Owns contractual management for the supplier.

  • Responsible for source selection.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users.

  • Develops bid packages to include PO specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.

  • Analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates terms and conditions, selects or recommends vendors, writes awards, and administers resulting POs.

  • Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.

This position may be filled at the Principal (band 3) or Sr. Principal (band 4) level, depending on experience.

Basic Qualifications for a Band 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience, OR 4+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a master’s degree (4+ years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.)

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Basic Qualifications for a Band 4:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience, OR 8+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a master’s degree (4+ years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.)

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a challenging environment

  • SAP experience

  • Demonstrated experience with Commercial Item Determinations.

Salary Range: $84,600.00 - $127,000.00Salary Range 2: $104,900.00 - $157,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
