Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for executing sales with current and new potential customers. Collaborating with Account Sales Managers, Field Merchandisers and Category Managers to deliver promotional opportunities to grow outbound sales.

Here’s what you’ll do:  

  • Conduct outbound sales calls to new and new potential customers to sell establish new business for customized and specialized category opportunities, communicate upcoming promotional/seasonal programs.

  • Leverage analytical insights (e.g., historical, etc.) completed by Sales Ops team to target and execute identified sales opportunities.

  • Prepare and distribute targeted emails and materials for new and existing customers.

  • Proactive outbound sales calls to current and new potential customers aligned to a specific region (e.g., Lumberton, GRR, Lima, etc.) to enhance sales of “at risk” items at warehouse, prioritizing larger customers first.

  • Build in-depth knowledge of latest sales menu cascaded from ASMs to successfully convert large number of outbound sales calls into customer sales/orders/leads.

  • Closely collaborate with Account Sales Managers in growing share of wallet, sales revenue with emphasis on “fresh” categories within customer accounts.

  • Collaborate with Account Sales Managers in developing and updating sales collateral and field-based executions with customers (e.g., product presentations).

  • Gather market intelligence on industry trends, market activities and competitor actions to activate with customers and share back with Sales Ops, who will use the information to generate analytical insights for identifying additional sales opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Account Sales Managers and Field Merchandisers to gather customer feedback and identify additional sales opportunities (e.g., void/gap analysis).

 

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's preferred in Sales, Business Administration or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years job experience in Sales, Business Administration, or related area.

  • Experience in grocery retail or supply chain operations preferred.

  • Experience with Sales software and tools preferred (i.e. Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have attention to detail and effective planning, organization, prioritization and project/time management skills to meet deadline driven timelines.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal associates, including management and external customers.

  • General knowledge of marketing strategies and basic analytical skills.
