The Opportunity:
Join Hitachi Energy’s world-class Transformers Business Unit (BU)—a global leader shaping the future of sustainable energy. In our Distribution, Dry, and Traction Transformers product lines, you will drive the strategic quality agenda that ensures our products power industries, infrastructure and communities with the highest standards of reliability and safety.
This is a unique opportunity to influence medium- and long‑term product quality strategy across the entire value chain—from design and engineering to manufacturing, testing and customer delivery. You will shape global quality platforms, elevate customer satisfaction, and create systems that prevent issues before they arise.
If you are motivated by leading change, driving operational excellence, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement in complex, global environments—this role offers impact at scale.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Lead the development and deployment of the Global Product Group (GPG) Quality Strategy, aligned with Business Unit priorities.
Drive global quality programs (e.g., APQP) and support execution of the Business Unit (BU) Quality Improvement Plan.
Analyze global quality data to identify systemic issues and eliminate root causes.
Strengthen and evolve the BU/GPG Quality Management System, integrating learnings from customer and internal feedback.
Own and improve production standards, manufacturing documentation and training (Quality School).
Validate new or updated production standards and embed best practices into global technical and quality standards.
Lead and execute quality and process audits, ensuring closure of actions across global sites.
Partner with engineering and technology teams to secure quality in new product introductions (DFMEA, DFMA, standardization, modularization).
Your Background:
Master’s degree (MSc/MBA) with strong technical and manufacturing foundations.
Extensive experience in quality management paired with in‑depth exposure to the transformer business.
Minimum 8 years in international leadership roles with experience managing global structures.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent) and formal quality/auditor training (ISO or similar).
Strong knowledge of quality, project, and change management tools and methods, with proven success leading major improvement programs.
Fluent English and exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills; willingness to travel up to 50%.
