Job Summary

The Lead Escort will oversee contract labor workers and escorts in support of various construction projects in a secure environment. These projects are critical to maintain the building infrastructure as well as to provide support to Aerospace customers’ program requirements and growth.

Work Model

This is a part-time casual position based in El Segundo CA requiring 100% onsite work.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Train, coordinate, and monitor escorts assigned to observe construction contractors in strict accordance with established security protocol.
  • Provide assigned escorts with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while they perform their duties in designated construction zones.
  • Real-time management of escorts in the field to balance the support of multiple concurrent projects based on the various project specific needs at any given time. 
  • Report to the Aerospace Secure Facilities Operations Specialist who will coordinate the project schedules and necessary escort support in concert with Lead Escort.
  • Interact with the contractors and building occupants on project assignments to ensure that work is performed with the required number of escorts to maintain a safe, secure, and productive work environment.
  • Assist with employee, furniture and equipment moves in support of construction projects.
  • Regularly walk the facility and identify items requiring maintenance, repair and/or cleaning. Advise Aerospace Facilities of required maintenance work orders and provide follow-up.
  • Escort as needed to cover projects that are understaffed due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Report any observed security or safety anomalies to management.
  • Monitor arrival and departure time of escorts assigned to projects.
  • Report on the progress of projects and advise of any obstacles that impact productivity.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability and willingness to work evening shift: Monday through Friday, 5:00PM – 1:30AM with occasional day and weekend work.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements including walking, standing, sitting, and climbing stairs for the duration of the shift. Exterior work may require personal protection from the elements.
  • Must be able to work within construction areas as required.
  • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments (timesheets, reports, email communications).
  • This position requires an active TS/SCI government clearance and a counterintelligence polygraph which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Prior experience escorting in a secure environment
  • Construction and/or Building Maintenance experience
  • Ability to read Architectural Drawings and Construction Schedules
  • Understanding of building systems and components (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Structure, Network)
