ACCOUNTABILITY LEVEL:
The role is accountable for the Demand, Plan, Build and Run of Commercial related IT solutions for Clarios APAC. The role has accountability for partnering with Commercial leaders to create ideas, prioritize and identify a pipeline of initiatives that will enable quantifiable revenue growth and customer experience improvements in both OE and Aftermarket businesses. Based on an approved investment plan, the IT BRM, APAC Commercial will assemble teams comprised of both internal and external resources to perform proof-of-concept, design, develop, test and launch of new or enhanced system capabilities. This person will be expected to incorporate contemporary architectural techniques and follow continuous delivery methodologies to achieve desired business outcomes in the shortest time possible at best delivered cost.
This role actively participates in business strategy development and execution in the sub-region, partnering with Commercial leaders. The individual will build and maintain a Commercial IT roadmap to establish new business capabilities, insights and lead transformation from traditional IT delivery/services to contemporary Digital solutions/services.
This individual needs to be highly collaborative, influencing, disciplined, a strong communicator and innovative minded. The ability to deliver tactical projects while anticipating issues and thinking strategically is required.
The position requires a demonstrated ability to manage a diverse set of requests, quickly mediate between competing priorities, and work effectively with IT colleagues, contractors, and business management both within and across reporting relationships and geographic regions.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Relationship Management
- Business Relationships - Develops working relationships with a diverse group of business stakeholders and gain an understanding of the complex nature of the sub-region’s business. Maintain familiarity with the business plans of the sub-region and Commercial function across markets.
- Business Alignment - Meets with business management and staff to understand business requirements and to determine system requirements for Commercial function. Works with customers to define and prioritize improvement initiatives. Assists in building strategic roadmaps and aligning the business initiatives with IT initiatives to shape the IT vision and strategy. Participates in business partners’ regular operations/strategic reviews and annual planning sessions.
- Business Case Development - Responsible for contributing to business case generation and overall project strategies including project plans for major efforts that satisfy the business needs of that functional area for review and approval by management. Also responsible for assisting user management in setting priorities.
- Demand Management – Identifies key strategic business and functional requirements for Commercial. Responsible for assisting users in setting priorities, resolving competing initiatives and aligning expectations throughout the portfolio.
- Issue Escalation – Key role in the management, impact analysis and communication of system performance or production downtime events. Acts as conduit between IT applications support and business leadership.
IT Portfolio Management
- “Demand”
- Creates and generates ideas from the customer problems through business strategy mapping, stakeholder interviews or innovative design thinking. Leverages the scale of Clarios and introduces best practices and solutions from other regions where appropriate.
- Prioritizes the ideas by business values estimates (cost, value and time).
- Performs experimentation and proofs of concepts to establish pipeline for Commercial IT solutions for rapid solution delivery.
- “Plan”
- Actively engages with business strategy planning & execution for Commercial.
- Develops a Commercial IT strategy and roadmap that supports business growth and customer experience improvements across the sub-regional markets.
- Selects technologies, platforms and vendor partners that fit the needs of the business and align with overall Clarios IT Strategy and IT policy.
- Maintains a portfolio backlog and corresponding investment plan with clear business outcomes and financial business case for each investment.
- “Build”
- Develops work effort and cost estimates for new initiatives.
- Participates in solution ideation, high-level planning and solution architecture design reviews.
- Responsible for management of all internal and external 3rd party development and configuration of Commercial IT solutions including but not limited to CXP APAC applications (POS Partnership Platform and others), ERP (QAD EE on-prem & Cloud), CRM (Salesforce), EI & EDI (IBM Sterling & MuleSoft), and Business Intelligence solutions such as MSFT Power BI data modeling and visualization.
- Responsible for qualification, selection and commercial agreements with external solution delivery parties.
- Works in collaboration with Clarios IT application and infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility of designs and on-time integrated delivery.
- Ensures design and delivery of solutions compliant with IT General Controls, SOX, PCI, GDPR and other sub-regional Cybersecurity regulations as required.
- Responsible for testing strategy, planning, execution and result capture.
- Responsible for overall quality of solution delivery and successful cutover and launch activities.
- “Run”
- Provides SME advice for the establishment of support services tailored to the needs of the Commercial IT solutions using preferred providers and specific SLAs.
- Functions as one of the escalation points defined by Major Incident Management (MIM) processes for all mission critical applications/services in this area.
- Continuously analyzes support incidents and recurring problems to recommend and implement corrective actions. Participates in root cause analysis and implementation of permanent corrective actions.
- Partners with IT Service Operations in establishment of health measurements and investment proposals to prevent inadvertent aging or failures; in performing annual IT SOX self-testing and remediation efforts for in-scope applications and in coordinating with IT applications leadership and corporate IT leaders to ensure seamless services to the business across integrated solutions.
Cross Functional Program Leadership
- Digital Program – Organizes Commercial leadership to identify Clarios Experience Platform (CXP) initiatives in the sub-region and stated benefits within 5-year horizon. Influences sub-regional leaders to subscribe to new methods for milestone, KPI and benefits tracking to assemble digital program for the sub-region and drive accountability for success through others.
Departmental
- Financial Responsibilities - Partners with the business leaders to fund the CAPEX and OPEX investments for Commercial IT solution BUILD and RUN. Participates in creating of department budget and quarterly forecasts. Responsible for consulting, professional services, travel and training budgets in designated areas of responsibility.
- Operating Model – Provides feedback and helps shape the operating model of the department to achieve balance between governance, speed, risk and quality required by the region.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar field.
- 10+ years’ experience defining, implementing and supporting Information Technology systems with an emphasis on Commercial and Digital product management in the past 5 years.
- 5+ years’ leadership experience managing technical delivery teams consisting of in-house / contractor staffs and owning a project portfolio.
- Candidate must have a deep understanding of Market to Sell (MTS) & Order to Cash (OTC) related processes. Auto parts, Digital Commerce or other consumer goods/services industry background is preferred.
- Experience leading business/IT strategy development, business case building and organizational change management for large IT programs.
- Experience leading individual ERP/CRM and/or other external customer/partner facing Digital programs greater than $2M in size.
- Experience managing both product and service vendors and negotiating managed services, T&M and fixed bid delivery contracts.
- Experience using structured project management methodologies with agile SDLC methods. PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP certificated candidate is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to convert business needs into system requirements.
- Experience with QAD EE and Salesforce (or equivalent CRM solutions) is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting applications in a 24x7x365 manufacturing environment.
- Action oriented, with the ability to understand and willingness to get into systems development details when warranted. “Do what it takes” attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, in both Korean and English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support job responsibilities as required. (Approx. 30%)
