Healing Care Animal Hospital

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at Healing Care Animal Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping animals and their owners. This position involves assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animal patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, surgical suites, and medical equipment.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalyses.
  • Monitor and record vital signs of animals before, during, and after procedures.
  • Provide compassionate care to animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with scheduling appointments.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that the clinic is well-stocked.
  • Clean and disinfect work areas and animal housing facilities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional veterinary training or certification is a plus.
  • If applying as a Veterinary Technician and active MI LVT license is required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a veterinary assistant
  • Strong knowledge of animal behavior, care, and basic veterinary procedures.
  • Proficiency in using veterinary software and electronic medical records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Physical stamina to lift and restrain animals when necessary.
