Position Overview:

Freedom Boat Club of NY is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and member-focused Seasonal Coordinator – Training & Operations to support daily operations across our network of locations. This role serves as the first line of communication for local members and plays a critical role in onboarding, training coordination, fleet administration, and general operational support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced marine environment, communicates professionally, and is comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with occasional dockside support.

This position is temporary/seasonal (ends in October/November) and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions:

Member Onboarding & Communication

  • Initiate timely contact with new members immediately following sign‑up.
  • Guide members through the onboarding process, outlining expectations and next steps.
  • Coordinate on‑water training sessions with licensed captains and members (including use of scheduling tools such as Calendly).
  • Serve as the primary local point of contact for member inquiries, concerns, and scheduling needs.
  • Maintain professional, prompt communication via phone, email, and text platforms.

Fleet & Administrative Support

  • Assist with vessel registration documentation and tracking.
  • Support fleet management activities within Fleetio, including data entry, maintenance tracking, and record retention.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records related to fleet compliance and operations.
  • Assist management with reporting, documentation, and internal updates as needed.

Incident Communication & Reporting

  • Participate in the incident communication workflow.
  • Track, collect, and monitor incident reports and JotForm submissions.
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed, escalated, and stored appropriately.
  • Assist in maintaining organized records for operational review and follow‑up.

Dock & Operational Support

  • Spend time on docks as needed to support operations and member engagement.
  • Assist with dockside activities during peak periods.
  • Receive hands‑on dock training to understand vessel procedures, safety protocols, and member service standards.
  • Support team members to ensure smooth daily operations across locations.

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school degree
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Pass a background/education check, and drug screen
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong documentation and record‑keeping abilities.
  • Comfort working in both administrative/office and marine dock environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to quickly learn fleet management systems (e.g., Fleetio).
  • Positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in and around boats
  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity 
  • Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised 

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office-based administrative work and dockside operational support.
  • Fast-paced, member-centric marine environment.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and varying seasonal demands.
  • Some weekend or seasonal schedule flexibility may be required.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. This position is salary non-exempt and eligible for overtime. 

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
