Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Product Category President, the Senior Vice President of Operations has ultimate accountability for providing leadership, direction and focus to all manufacturing facilities that are within the respective product category in order to ensure operational excellence, structured growth and long-term strategic management. The primary goal of the position is to safely deliver world class manufacturing focused on delivering zero injuries, zero quality defects, 100% on time delivery, and year over year productivity improvements to ensure profitable growth. This will be achieved through managing the operations leadership team and other product category leadership roles. The SVP of Operations leads in a complex, global, multisite environment while leveraging the latest manufacturing technologies. This leader is responsible for delivering the highest level results for the respective areas of responsibility in the broad categories of revenue, profit, cash flow, safety, quality, on time delivery, continuous improvement, forecasting, planning, , product transfers, new product introductions, inventory and capital management. They also believe in and are a passionate leader for Integer’s Manufacturing Excellence strategy as well as Lean and continuous improvement. This individual is responsible for the leadership of and execution with their team on the development and execution of product category manufacturing strategies, footprint additions and/or consolidations, major product transfers, New Product Introductions (NPI) and all relevant manufacturing engineering. This position reports dotted line to the EVP of Global Operations related to the development and execution of the Integer Manufacturing Excellence strategy including the optimization of the Integer footprint, deployment of the Integer Production System and advanced manufacturing technologies. In addition, the incumbent will interact with customers as necessary and contribute to the development of commercial proposals and sales strategies as required.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Adheres to Integer Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements. Leading the product category development and implementation of the Integer production system and manufacturing excellence imperative.
- Successfully lead the operations function and team to manage the leadership and members all factory operations including manufacturing safety, quality, productivity, cost, engineering, facility & continuous improvement activities.
- Responsible for building and leading a high performing team including talent selection, development, mentoring, performance management, building bench strength and succession plans; encourage learning and development across the operations.
- Responsible for delivering best in class operational performance in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost while maintaining high levels of associate engagement,
- Drives performance and accountability through identification and monitoring of key operational metrics.
- Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion while maintaining a sense of local identity in and across all product category sites.
- Embraces and leads all operational aspects of a robust sales and operations process.
- Coordinates and directs facility operations across the Product Category, including but not limited to manufacturing, asset utilization, inventory control, facilities control, building layout and construction, maintenance, manufacturing projects and studies, cost controls, labor utilization, work standards, and administration
- Collaborates with Commercial teams to ensure strong customer relationship development and management; partners on business development activities including supporting sales closes, assessment of business cases and partnership in periodic customer business reviews.
- Along with Product Category President, leads and manages the annual budget planning process and is responsible for the achievement of the agreed upon financial goals.
- Develops in depth familiarity with Integer products, manufacturing technology, and capabilities across the sites. Keeps abreast of next generation/new technology application applicable to the site. Partners with R&D to define and deliver the operational elements of the product strategy.
- Fosters a continuous improvement culture, driving the development of innovative and effective productivity and cost reduction programs including the development and execution on the Integer Production System and other lean initiatives.
- Champions Integer’s Quality Policy and Vision; demonstrates a commitment to quality and “putting the patient first”; ensures adherence to Quality System and customer change control systems.
- Collaborates with colleagues to identify best practices across the organization and drives standard policies and practices across operations enterprise wide; collaborates cross functionally to ensure achievement of business goals and strategic objectives.
- Provides intellectual, experiential leadership and contributes to the business overall growth objectives through participation and support of corporate development initiatives.
- Leads the planning and execution of product category manufacturing capacity utilization to meet business requirements.
- Collaborates with Finance and provides in depth analysis of financial performance of manufacturing facilities, identifying operations and cost opportunities in budgets, variance plans and providing overall leadership to Operations Directors in the attainment of and accountability for financial targets.
- Ensures compliance with all government, financial, environmental, and labor regulations as required.
- Responsibility for all site based NPI groups, new product launches and production volume ramps.
- Responsible for all manufacturing engineering, process technologies, factory automation.
- Actively participates in the diligence and integration of business development related activities.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education & Experience:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering or similar technical discipline.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- 15 years senior operations management experience and proven leadership in a large scale, complex, global, multisite environment.
- Industry 4.0/advanced manufacturing technologies proven experiences and accomplishments.
- Demonstrated experience in developing a vision and strategy and successfully leading an organization to achieving these goals.
- Experienced required in developing and sustaining products in compliance with ISO standards. Experience in a regulated environment preferred.
- Proven track record of managing technical employees, building high-performance manufacturing organizations and delivering high quality products safely, on time, and on budget.
