Job Description​

Saint Luke's has an opportunity for a Pre-Anesthesia Assessment Nurse. This position contacts patients to obtain medical and surgical history for anesthesia review on all scheduled surgical cases. Provides patient education for each surgical procedure. Determines if pre-operative testing is indicated and arranges for testing to be completed prior to surgery. Serves as change agent for improvements in pre-assessment practices and processes. Serves as a resource to health care providers throughout the perioperative phases of surgery and to applicable nursing. Assumes mentor and preceptor responsibilities as needed.

Hours for this position will be 0730-1800.

At least three shifts per week this RN will work in the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment center with the possibility of working the other shift in PreOp or PACU with the possibility of moving to exclusively working in the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment center as their workload grows due to OR expansion. This RN will need current BLS and ACLS and may be required to take evening and/or weekend call for PACU.

Applicable Experience:

3-5 years

Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Various

Associate Degree
