We’re looking for a talented Data Loss Prevention Analyst who expects more from their career. The Information Security function protects the information assets of dunnhumby through deployment of an effective security strategy, robust risk framework and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role will be involved in delivering this as part of the GRC team within the Information Security function.  

Reporting directly to the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Consultant this role is key to promoting a proactive approach to DLP governance within the business. The role will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and operational management of DLP activities.  

 The DLP Specialist will be accountable for owning the DLP policies and driving the implementation of DLP rules using available tools and processes. They will be required build and maintain a roadmap for continuous improvement, balancing risk reduction, operational effectiveness 

What we expect from you

  • Degree or equivalent in a statistical or mathematical subject.
  • Experience within Commercial IT and Analytics or a Technical Consulting company.
  • Experience with Cloudera and/or the business’ need to operate.  

     Key accountabilities 

    • Daily monitoring of dunnhumby’s DLP alerts and notifications 
    • Identifying and investigating potential data breaches or exfiltration activities and escalating for further review where there is a suspected incident   
    • Reviewing the quality of DLP alerts, providing assessment of any deviations and exceptions to policy and identifying and reducing false positives 
    • Contributing to the design, testing and implementation of detective and preventative rulesets/policies across all technologies 
    • Collaborating with colleagues in Security Operations to support any security incidents and inquiries that affect DLP, including investigation, incident response activities and invoking of escalation processes 
    • Engaging with vendors and internal stakeholders to support the development and maturity of DLP technologies and ruleset/policy development & tuning 
    • Contributing to an intelligence-led approach, to design-out risks of data loss / data exfiltration, including those posed by insider threats 
    • Identifying and escalating insider threat events from DLP technologies 
    • Compiling and reporting performance metrics, and lessons learned, recommending mitigations and controls to reduce risks of data loss 

Qualifications & Experience 

 

Desirable 

  • Detail oriented, with proven ability to mobilise and energise cross-functional teams to implement solutions and complete tasks 
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy and data governance 
  • Strong reporting ability, with an understanding on how to tailor reports to different audiences 
  • Understanding of wider information protection disciplines (records management, data protection, information protection) and organisational data (preferred but not essential) 
  • Knowledge of AI/Machine Learning Technologies 

Essential 

  • Extensive hands-on operational Data Loss Prevention experience and knowledge of DLP tooling, especially MS Purview 
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills 
  • Attention to detail and the ability to remain focused and objective when analysing alerts and any potential exfiltration incidents 
  • Operational experience of MS O365 
  • Extensive experience of data analysis and production of reports and performance metrics (ideally with experience of Power BI)
