Job Summary

Supports the Director Reimbursement for all financial functions that relate to net revenue and bad debt recognition for all Care Delivery divisions of Corewell Health. Provides financial reimbursement services required by all internal and external customers. Acts as a subject matter expert on advising and educating operational leadership, and advocating to ensure the appropriate levels of reimbursement to the system.

Essential Functions

  • Develops, implements, and maintains systems related to the calculation of third-party reimbursement.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments within the system related to government net revenue management activities.
  • Prepares and reviews the annual hospital Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare cost reports and supports all government program reimbursement functions.
  • Performs/reviews the calculations of government program settlement/reserve and prepares/reviews the monthly account reconciliations.
  • Supports the completion of Corewell Health’s annual external audit by providing support and responses timely and accurately
  • Perform ad-hoc reimbursement and other analyses at the request of the Reimbursement Director.
  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating the performance of any subordinates assigned to the Manager.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • 7 years of relevant experience progressively responsible healthcare finance experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience in leadership or a supervisory role
  • Experience working in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health
  • Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through related experience
  • At least one Certification from the following preferred list within 180 Days:
  • Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) - Healthcare Financial Management Association Or
  • Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA) - Healthcare Financial Management Association Or
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association Or
  • Certified Inpatient Coding Auditor (CICA) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association Or
  • Certified Specialist Accounting & Finance (CSAF) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association Or
  • Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association Or
  • Certified Specialist Managed Care (CSMC) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association Or
  • Certified Specialist Physician Practice Management (CSPPM) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association Or

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - State of Michigan
