Job Description Summary

The Project Control Specialist will be responsible for managing Project Financials and supporting Operational Management activities for the assigned portfolio, as well as supporting and advising Project Managers and other functions regarding assigned project. The Project Control Specialist facilitates the project booking, revenue recognition, billing and project closing. The role also includes monitoring and analyzing project financials, working closely with the project team and finance representatives to resolve potential issues that may impact business expectations or project financial performance. . This relates to all project and service types across the Grid Automation portfolio executed in the North America region.

Job Description

Roles Responsibilities:

  • The Project Control Specialist will be responsible for managing Project Financials and supporting Operational Management activities for the assigned portfolio.

  • Supporting and advising Project Managers and other functions regarding assigned project.

  • Facilitates the project booking, revenue recognition, billing and project closing.

  • Monitoring and analyzing project financials, working closely with the project team and finance representatives to resolve potential issues that may impact business expectations or project financial performance across the Grid Automation portfolio executed in the North America region. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a project environment or financial administration 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Project management fundamentals or project financial analysis experience

  • Familiarity with Project Purchasing Systems (SAP, Oscar)

  • Project accounting fundamentals is an asset

  • Project financial analysis experience

  • Ability to administer multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve financial issues

  • Ability to interface with senior management and customers

  • Ability to work within a matrix environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including virtual and electronic communications

  • Solid interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Microsoft Excel and Power Point

  • Strong experience with SAP is an asset

Eligibility Requirements:

  • For Canada, this role requires working a hybrid model, two days a week onsite at the Markham Ontario office.

  • For Canada, GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $68,500 - $114,200 CAD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
