Logan Health Radiation Oncology is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join their exceptional team here in Kalispell, Montana!

This position delivers Radiation Therapy to patients and performs related duties in accordance with the prescription and instruction by the Radiation Oncologists.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required:

    • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.

    • Eligible to take ARRT certification exam and must successfully obtain ARRT certification within six (6) months of hire.

  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR required.

  • Possess an understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to, HIPAA guidelines.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Provides radiation therapy and simulation to patients utilizing a variety of radiation therapy equipment and software. Performs verification and implementation of radiation therapy prescription for simulation and treatment as instructed by the Radiation Oncologist.

  • Performs documentation per department procedures and protocol, to include chart checks accurate and timely billing, and final treatment course.

  • Accurately and timely completes patient schedules while being cognizant of staffing/budgeting constraints.

  • Maintains detailed and accurate records of technical, legal and statistical components of treatment. Uses IGRT appropriately and accurately within the scope of practice and Radiation Oncologist approval. Performs conventional and IMRT therapy and CT SIM. Stays abreast of current treatment options which may enhance radiation care and/or provide proper billing support. Maintains technical proficiency in current radiation oncology practices and procedures.

  • Evaluates the treatment and condition of patients undergoing treatment and identifies the need for symptomatic, emotional and psychological support. Refers patient as appropriate.

  • Proactively and professionally participates in new employee and student orientation and education. Completes all training and education for new procedures and equipment in a timely manner.

  • Performs all QA essential to safe patient handling, and documents QA treatment machine warm up.  This includes but may not be limited to; TrueBeam Linear Accelerators, OSMS, CT, RPM, and CRAD activities. Establishes a plan of action and seeks appropriate assistance when quality indicators are not met.

  • Performs treatment and simulation of all brachytherapy, PET Simulation, 4DCT, DIBH, SBRT, SRS and FSRS patients following provider orders and departmental procedures.  Collaborates with department staff to ensure new treatment procedures fit into the workflow of other specialties as appropriate. Performs treatment of brachytherapy and gated patients as instructed.

  • Participates in safety, quality, and performance improvement processes.  Actively addresses any safety and performance concerns and exhibits patient and radiation safety at all times.

  • Exhibits critical thinking skills, professional communication, openness to change and a willingness to undertake expanded duties. Performs appropriate follow through with requests which enhance department flow.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
