Title and Summary

Lead, Platform Engineering F/T

Overview
Perform architecture and engineering functions that contribute and/or influences the strategic direction for the Database Engineering Program.
Role.
• Build a strong partnership with management and may manage operational and/or strategic initiatives or support for the team.
• Collaborate with Development teams in helping them achieve Reliability, Operability, Scalable, Performant and Secure systems with the Database Tier.
• Work with Technology teams for the development, maintenance, testing, implementation, and support of assigned database technologies and associated software products.
• Monitor with advanced troubleshooting skills for database issues escalated by the business team and internal monitoring in a timely manner with strong skills to drive to root cause and remediation of issues.
• Develop a strong partnership with Technology teams and customer to understand business needs and with advanced skills to communicate solutions in business terms.
• Identify, respond and resolve database performance issues; communicates database performance resolution to technical teams and business partners.
• Follow change management, problem management and incident management processes and procedures.
• Handle large enterprise project/initiatives with specialized knowledge within assigned discipline and the ability to architect solutions.
• Proactively plan and coordinate larger technical and architectural efforts within the database team and with external technology teams.
• Influence Mastercard best practices in planning, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining database solutions.
• Train and mentor members of the team by contributing to supporting documentation.

About You
• Position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or as a Database Administrator, or related. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience.
• Qualifying experience must include at least two (2) years with each of the following: Configuring, patching, upgrading, and optimizing database software and related products; Security, backup/recovery, architecture, networking, and administration for assigned database discipline; Database Replication setup, configuration, troubleshooting both Physical as well as Logical Replication; Performance and tuning skills; IAC Automation tools for building automation for DB builds, Patching, maintenance .

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $122,000 - $207,000 USD
