The RN is responsible for the provision and coordination of patient centered care. The RN works independently with patients to focus on prevention, health promotion, patient education, and patient assistance in the area of expertise. Under the supervision of a physician, following identified protocols, the RN is involved in rendering medical care to relieve the symptoms of patients' injuries, diseases, and conditions as well as advise, counsel and instruct patients on health care treatment and prevention.
Pay Range: $28.71 - $48.77/hour
Employment Type: Full Time, 80 hours every 2 weeks
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Requirements: Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program, Current Michigan RN License, BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire
Professional Practice:
- Promotes patient safety by maintaining the policies and procedures of the physician office.
- Achieves office-specific initial and ongoing competencies.
- In addition, maintains the ANA Standards of Professional Performance including:
- Participates and is mindful of the quality initiatives of physician practice
- Maintains nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations.
- Contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues Works with physician and family in rending medical care.
- Coordinates patient care involving other members of the health care team in relation to Patient Centered Medical Home as appropriate.
- Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing service.
Direct Patient Care:
The RN may develop and initiate nursing regimens, for example:
- Applying infection control measures; assessing and managing wounds; applying heating and cooling devises.
- Implements patient management plans as devised and directed by a physician.
- Administers medications as directed by a supervising health professional including IV administered medications.
- Work independently to provide testing, education and treatment in area of specialty.
- Performs non-invasive physical exams following physician approved protocols
Documentation:
- Documents patient information in the medical record.
- Assists with maintaining patient medication logs, completes prescription files and communication logs.
- Completes documentation in a timely, accurate manner including chart closing process.
Quality Improvement:
- Supports the quality improvement activities of the facility and responds appropriately to change.
- Participates in learning or teaching experiences as appropriate.
- Requests supervision when needed and utilizes supervision effectively
- Ensures compliance with policy, procedure and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in marketing WMUA through community meetings and functions as requested.
- Providers leadership and education to others in area of expertise Maintains patient rights, confidentiality.
- If applicable, ensures appropriate documentation for billing, maintaining ethical billing practices.
- Identifies communication needs of significant referral sources and assures that they receive information in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program required
- Current Michigan RN License required
- BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
