Staff Manufacturing Engineer (CNC)
Staff Engineer (CNC) is the Subject Matter Expert across a number of Engineering competencies including mostly CNC skills but also Lean six sigma, manufacturing and automation. The Staff Engineer will provide technical leadership in the Stryker facility across all CNC processes. They will possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of CNC specialization and deliver complex assignments.
Scope of duties
- Management of significant Engineering projects through PMO
- Technical and operational support to CNC manufacturing operations
- Ensure quality of process and product as defined in appropriate OS and Material specifications
- Structured problem solving
- Continuously improve the performance of the process
- Provide support to Process Development / Advanced Operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process (Local Process expert in CNC process)
- Engage in the implementation of lean manufacturing
- Communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting with support team members and with external agents
- Providing development and guidance for assigned Co-op /Technician Engineers
- Provide leadership to other Manufacturing Engineers and or Technicians as required
- Provision of out-of-hours support to the business as required by management or as mandated by shutdowns and/or equipment failures
- Process NC/CAPA in his/her area of responsibility
- Taking part/leading in development process of PFEMA, Control Plans.
- Conducting SPC and MSA studies for new/modified processes.
- Integration of new process with MES / SAP systems.
- Lead role in process validation procedure / documentation.
Our expectations
- BS in Engineering
- At least 5 years experience in implementing/improving CNC processes.
- CNC Machining Knowledge (Swiss turning, milling, CNC grinding)
- Experience in CNC programming (Fanuc, Sinumerik, Mazatrol)
- Experience and knowledge in process validation/PPAP.
- Knowledge of GD&T is a must.
- Experience in using analytical tools like PFMEA, SPC, MSA, DoE will be an advantage.
- Capable of providing technical leadership and, influencing and providing technical direction to Engineers, Coop Students, Technicians and Operators as required
- Demonstrable strong analytical & problem solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent presentation and written / verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable ability to work autonomously
- Technological expert, willing to source, investigate and implement technological advances
- Fluent English writing and speaking is a must
Travel Percentage: 10%
