Job Description: Warehouse Material Handler

Position Summary:
The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate handling of materials, inventory, and shipments within the warehouse. This role involves receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate is a reliable team player with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling & Inventory Management:
    • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damages.
    • Accurately store materials in designated locations to optimize warehouse organization.
    • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment based on work orders or customer requirements.
    • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
  • Shipping & Receiving:
    • Prepare materials for shipping, including labeling and proper packaging.
    • Load and unload trucks in compliance with safety standards.
    • Verify shipping documentation and ensure accurate delivery of materials.
  • Equipment Operation:
    • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
    • Perform routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment and report any issues.
  • Safety & Cleanliness:
    • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
    • Report any safety concerns or incidents to management immediately.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.
    • Assist with special projects, such as warehouse reorganizations or process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Previous experience in warehouse operations or material handling preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and order management.
    • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification is a plus).
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in material handling tasks.
    • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Good communication and teamwork skills

Salary range:

$34,000.00 - $54,500.00
