The Cardiology department is seeking a full- time Medical Assistant for our Wesley Chapel Office. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM. The role is responsible for assisting providers and manages clinical functions in the department. Candidates with experience in a medical office highly preferred, especially in Cardiology. Must be able to multi task, take vital signs, work in electronic medical record, perform ekg's, answer phone, scheduling patient appointments.

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Complete the start of day processes
  • Properly room patients
  • Assist provider during examinations, procedures, and with treatment
  • Perform diagnostic studies and treatments 
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and medical equipment
  • Process medication requests
  • Handle patient calls
  • Organize and maintain sample and supply closets
  • Perform incidental duties as needed

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Strong team player
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Cardiology experience highly preferred
  • Able to perform Ekg's, refill medications, take vital signs, and answer phones/schedule appointments. 
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience required

    • Able to stand or walk for long periods
    • Use of proper body mechanics
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
  • Experience in fast pace, high volume office setting
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

Occupational Exposure:

 

  • High risk exposure to blood borne pathogens and chemical hazards
