How You’ll Impact Patient Care:

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Interviewing patients or caregivers to obtain detailed medication information.
  • Reviewing prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and herbal products for accuracy.
  • Reconciling medication lists to identify discrepancies or potential safety concerns.
  • Communicating with pharmacies, hospitals, group homes, and nursing facilities etc. to verify doses and frequencies of medications and last filled dates.
  • Collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, and physicians to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all regulatory and institutional guidelines.
  • Works well with others and organizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency.

This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety, as accurate medication lists are critical for preventing errors and ensuring optimal care.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) required.
  • North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Have (Not Required):

  • Successful completion of a formal technician training program preferred.
  • One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in a healthcare or business-related field preferred.
