Key Responsibilities:

  • Principal point of contact for the day to day operational relationship with the assigned CMO(s); establishing effective GSK and CMO relationships, ways of working, communication channels and governance structure in alignment with Differentiated Oversight (segmentation approach to CMOs).

  • Effective supplier relationship management, oversight and delivery of KPIs through leadership of a cross-functional, matrixed PQTS+ team to ensure delivery of:
    - Security of product supply
    - EHS standards
    - Product quality
    - Compliance with regulatory requirements, GSK policies and standards
    - Delivering products of value at optimum cost (managing operating budget and continuous improvement value delivery of savings pipeline)
    - Relationship and KPI objectives agreed annually; with improvement plans embedded
    - Robust risk management (according to External Manufacturing Small Molecules (EM-SM) risk processes), including Business Continuity Plans
    - Creation and maintenance of DRAs for portfolio

  • Drive adherence to the MSA, QAA and SLA agreements with suppliers, rigorously following the designed operating rhythm, with periodic KPI revision and continuous improvement initiatives as per the applicable contracts/ agreements.  

  • Utilise GSK systems to ensure demand is clearly represented and visible to our CMOs.  There is a requirement for Supplier Relationship Managers to understand the impact of the planning system parameters (for example MOQ/ Lead Time/ Safety Stock/ Transit Time) to ensure demand data in the system flows through correctly.

  • Utilise the SCIM process to escalate demand/ market issues within the firm zone to proactively identify issues with supply.

  • In situations where intermediate product demand data does not flow through the planning systems, the Supplier Relationship Manager should work with the customer to understand finished goods demand and translate that into a supply plan for the CMO.  The Supplier Relationship Manager should follow GSK procedures to manually transfer demand to the CMO, considering all parameters (MOQ, Lead Time etc) and manage communications between the CMO and the Hub in the event of changes in demand impacting the supply plan.

  • Execute approved CMO strategies by supporting delivery of: proactive optimisation of supplier base (entrants, exits and portfolio changes); leveraging preferred partner relationships; New Product Introduction; product transfers; change management; key strategic projects; continuous improvement performance optimisation through identification and facilitation of Continuous Improvement Frameworks.

  • Manage short, medium and long term supply and capacity considerations according to demand signals via the CCC process, including highlighting any capital investment, change management and/or OPEX requirements to support business case development.  Support delivery of working capital and inventory targets.  Understand the most efficient way to produce/manage order quantities in order to minimise overall costs and value of inventory and ensure supply parameters are set up in the planning systems to reflect this.

  • Support delivery of service improvement opportunities from the weekly SCIM process and on an exception basis triggered by data trends. 

  • Represent EM-SM during internal global rationing and allocation decisions to ensure enterprise decision making.

  • Set up, management and operation of effective Supply Chain systems and trade routes between GSK and external CMOs – including management of orders, invoicing, transportation (including customs requirements) and inventory for tolled materials for applicable CMOs/regions.

  • Ensuring correct volumes, commercial knowledge and financial compliance requirements (stock count and inventory reporting in accordance with SARBOX), along with any relevant CAPEX and project costs, are visible to the Supply Director/Regional Supply Director and captured in financial planning cycles (plan and quarterly updates).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or certifications in supply chain or business management.

  • Experience in procurement or contract management.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.

The annual base salary in Poland for new hires in this position ranges from PLN 254,250 to PLN 423,750 gross, taking into account a number of factors including the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. Depending on the role and internal policies, the position may also be eligible for a bonus (if applicable and based on defined, non-discretionary criteria) and/or awards for exceptional performance (granted at the employer’s discretion). All statutory benefits will be maintained in accordance with Polish law. Other benefits may also be offered, which may include private healthcare, additional paid days off, life insurance, private pension plan and fully paid parental leave & care of family member leave.
