We are recruiting for our Wholesale team for an Operational Restoration Technician (ORT) on a permanent basis. This role provides 24/7 operational support and assistance to the Operational Control Manager (OCM) both on Water and Water Recycling and predominantly on Water Restoration.
 

What will you be doing?

Having joint responsibility with the Operational Control Managers you together with the Operational Restoration Manager will actively monitor and assist with the management of all operational events to minimise the impact to customers and provide an excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you will not only provide technical support and proactive monitoring, you will also keep the Customer Communications role within Tactical Operations updated with all events to ensure timely communications are posted on both the Web and Social Media. During periods of high operational activity you will be expected to assist both Water and Water Recycling OCMs and if required, you will also take up an appropriate role within an OMC Incident team.

Primarily you will be responsible for the management of interruption to supply (I2S) events ensuring that the impact following an I2S event is minimal and customer expectations are completely satisfied.

You will be responsible for the assessment and assist with the identification of appropriate alternative supply methods enabling supply restoration proactively and reactively should customer impact be immediate. You will also present any required operational data and information to support the Operational Restoration Manager in making effective decisions on the most appropriate alternative supply method to sustain customers' supplies.


 

What do you need?
Ideally educated to an A Level standard and with the following:


• Awareness of modelling IT and software application
• Experienced decision maker in an operational incident and/or operational environment
• Regulatory knowledge or proven experience preferred
• Able to demonstrate a flexible and constructive attitude and strong working skills
• Strong and proven prioritising skills
• Good IT skills including SAP, Click, Gallery, G-Net and IRIS
• Ability to challenge and change accepted working practices in favour of new and more effective ways of working
• Innovative thinker with route cause approach to problem solving
• Excellent customer service and communications skills
