Job Description

McKesson is seeking a Project Manager to join our Strategic Planning Team in our headquarters location in Irving/Las Colinas, Texas.

The Project Manager for Strategic Planning & Innovation is responsible for the development/implementation of strategic projects requiring a high degree of department and/or cross-functional coordination within McKesson's Pharmacy & Healthcare Solutions (PHS). This role will provide a single point of contact across the project lifecycle, including design, legal review, implementation, and ongoing evaluation. The Project Manager will oversee/coordinate all aspects of the project, including the development of detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports. The Project Manager will interface with key internal & external stakeholders, conduct project meetings and is responsible for project deliverables, including the management and review of vendor work/deliverables as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of leading development process for operational and business-related projects and programs.

  • Responsibilities must cover the process from design through implementation, evaluation, and release.

  • Developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports.

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.

  • Interfacing with all areas affected by the project which may include customers, Health Mart internal groups and field resources, client services and various McKesson shared business areas.

  • Scheduling and conducting project meetings.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred and will be required within the first year of employment).

Critical Skills

  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written)

  • 2+ Project Management experience

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills needed

  • Strong business acumen and ability to be agile and adapt to change while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders in a matrixed environment

  • Experience leading large, high visibility teams

  • Health Care experience strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in building project plans, using tools, such as SMartsheets or Microsoft Project

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrates strong ability to lead and execute, mitigating risks (strong problem-solving skills)

  •  Experience with visualization reporting tools

  • Experience in collaborating with various stakeholders in the development of technical solutions

  • Gathering and analyzing aggregate and objective feedback related to environment

  • Requires minimal supervision

  • Models effective leadership skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions

  • Remote work environment – Texas, ideally in the Irving, TX area.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US unrestricted – This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$83,300 - $138,900
