Job Description:
This position is responsible for designing and executing commodity strategies across multiple categories, including Operational and Customer Supplies, Security, Temporary Labor, and Automotive. The role focuses on implementing value-driven sourcing strategies that optimize total cost of ownership, ensure quality, and align with organizational objectives. The manager collaborates with business units to define sourcing requirements, leverages spend data and builds strategic supplier relationships to deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global and national commodity strategies for assigned categories
- Lead sourcing initiatives using e-sourcing tools (Coupa preferred) to drive competitive bidding and supplier engagement
- Analyze industry trends, spend data, and supply chain dynamics to identify cost reduction and service improvement opportunities
- Manage the RFP process and supplier negotiations to achieve optimal terms and conditions
- Create and maintain supplier scorecards to monitor performance and compliance with contractual obligations
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for critical supply categories
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with business objectives
- Promote supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives within sourcing strategies
- Oversee vendor performance management and ensure adherence to agreements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) required; MBA preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in designing and executing commodity strategies across multiple categories
- Strong proficiency in e-sourcing platforms (Coupa) and advanced analytical skills
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools (SQL, Python, Excel); R Studio experience is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and complex projects.
- Fluent English skills
- At least six months employment track at current position in UPS (for internal candidates only)
