Senior Ecommerce Consultant

Our Consultancy team works on exciting projects with leading brands to help accelerate their eCommerce proposition. Conducting extensive research, they help brands to build strategies that allow them to effectively grow online and implement best-in-class ecommerce offerings.
As Pattern EMEA grows, the organisation has identified the need to grow the Consulting & Advisory Team. We are looking for ambitious, astute individuals who are keen to help define the growth strategies for our array of clients.
As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for understanding client situations, gathering and synthesising information (e.g.market trends, category, competition), and making clear and actionable recommendations. You will contribute substantially to project delivery in terms of thinking and project management. You will develop strategic concepts and creative solutions for our clients, while working collaboratively with the wider team.

What is a day in the life of a Senior Consultant?
Day-to-day life as a Senior Consultant at Pattern is hugely varied. Each project has a team that is made up of different colleagues depending on the scope and requirements of the project. You may be researching the growth of eCommerce in Eastern Europe one day, or pulling together examples of best practice Digital Shelf, and being asked to evaluate Omnichannel UX or improve ways of working across a digital team the next.
The role would suit someone with experience in ecommerce management (D2C/marketplaces/digital shelf optimisation), but with a thirst to work cross-functionally and broaden their experience. Your responsibilities will be broad and will include:
Conducting in-depth research (competitor research, scorecards, benchmarking analysis, market research) - collate and analyze data from multiple sources to produce insightful and robust outputs
Combining external research evidence, client insights and commercial practicality to inform business strategy and decision-making.
Supporting in turning insights into action - deliver clear and actionable recommendations to our client base, helping them grow their business.
Contributing to the development and storyline of client presentations - assist with building creative and engaging deliverables, retailer research and analysis
Managing client relationships and liaising with stakeholders - engage with stakeholders to understand their business challenges and insight needs
Assisting with project management and supporting final delivery of client work.
Actively engaging with external sources to ensure we remain up to date with latest industry insights, trends and best practice
Support new business efforts by participating in the development of content for internal and wider industry events and activities, project proposals and pitches
What will I need to thrive in this role?
5+ years experience in consultancy, e-commerce, brand strategy or consumer insights
Experience of managing and developing junior team members
Demonstrable knowledge of being able to analyse large data sets to interpret trends and draw clear conclusions
Capable of extracting insight from multiple sources to create compelling and coherent stories
High level of commercial awareness and understanding of retail KPIs and other digital metrics
Strategic mindset with a detailed, methodical, and rigorous approach to finding solutions
Possess a deep understanding of ecommerce, as well as being fully immersed in retail and digital trends
Effective communication skills and stakeholder management experience
University degree in a relevant subject
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Amazon and other marketplaces and how they operate.
Expert in MS Office or Google Suite particularly Excel/ Sheets for data processing, and PP/ Slides for client presentations.
Experience in research tools and provider platforms such as Statista, Euromonitor, Mintel and SimilarWeb.
Experience interpreting / creating P&Ls and building a business plan.
