The NISC IV program at Leidos is looking for a Database Management / MS Power Platform Developer!

The candidate will provide database management and front-end application developer support for the electronic management of all Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) compliance data and information for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). All areas of support may include design, development, and maintenance of new and existing database, data management solutions, client-facing software applications, as well as to migrate and grow existing databases from Microsoft Access to PostgreSQL and Dataverse; training and application  support to users; developing front end solutions in applications such as Power Apps; and making the Database Management System, including software applications, available for presentation to a wide range of potential FAA customers. We are looking for a candidate to assist primarily in front-end development of Microsoft Power Platform applications including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Pages.

Primary Responsibilities

Specific tasks will include:

  • Develop complex Power Apps for mobile and browser use which integrate with a variety of data sources including PostgreSQL, Dataverse, and SharePoint Online.
  • Design Power Apps for a range of end-users.
  • Develop complex Power Automate flows which integrate with PostgreSQL, SharePoint, Dataverse, etc.
  • Develop integrated solutions which utilize SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI.
  • Ensure the products and/or databases managed by the EOSH Database Management team can interface, import, and incorporate information from other FAA database/systems.
  • Facilitate in the testing of products and/or databases managed by the EOSH Database Management team; data security; and administration of the Database Management System and related applications with the wide range of stakeholders.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and debugging issues during the creation and maintenance of the EOSH Database-managed products and databases.
  • Provide updates and modifications to the Database Management Systems or applications based on user/customer feedback.
  • Provide training to FAA employees who will function as Administrators.
  • Provide training and end-user support to Power Platform end-users.
  • Make the Database Management System and applications available for presentation to a wide range of FAA senior management, EOSH workforce, and support contractors.
  • Required to travel (as needed) to team meetings, to host briefings, and lead trainings with FAA users.

Position requires approximately 10% travel.

Please Note: This is a 100% Full Time Remote Work at Home position.

** Candidate has to live in Denver/Longmont, CO OR within the Western Service Area locations (i.e. California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) **

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Platform development with a strong understanding of backend data sources:

     A. Structured Query Language (SQL): (PostgreSQL).

     B. Relational database experience within a multi-tiered environment.

     C. Experience with backend and frontend design and development.

  • Proficient with Power Apps (including canvas and model-driven applications) and Power Automate. Ability to integrate Power Apps and Power Automate, using various data sources, such as SharePoint, PostgreSQL, and Dataverse,
  • Experience with API custom connectors and the use and maintenance of on-premise gateways.
  • Experience in SharePoint administration and/or development.
  • Solid experience in Power Apps security, including Role based authorization and MS EntraID security groups.
  • Bachelor’s degree related to Computer Science, Information Systems, OR equivalent; and have a minimum of 4+ years hands- on experience in a database developer role and 4+ years developing client-focused applications using the Power Platform application suite. OR Additional years of relevant experience maybe considered/accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).
  • Possess and demonstrate highly effective written and verbal communications with excellent presentation skills.
  • Skilled at understanding inter-dependencies and relationships from complex technical data sets and be a creative problem- solver with strong analytical skills.
  • Be a self-starter, demonstrate initiative, and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Be customer-service oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dashboard development experience in Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • SharePoint design, development, and administration.
  • Permanent telework status is acceptable; and ensure easily accessible communications with Government Technical Interpreter (GTI) and EOSH team members is provided.
  • Be hands-on involved in all phases of the development process. Phases to include (but not limited to): requirements gathering, application design, integration, software/application migration, dashboard design, development, and maintenance and process automation.
  • DevOps experience.
  • Microsoft PL-400 or PL-600 Certification.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
