Summary:
As an Engineering Services Specialist, a typical day involves providing comprehensive engineering support throughout the project lifecycle. This includes collaborating with various teams to develop and implement technical solutions that address complex engineering challenges. The role requires managing tasks related to structural and stress design, qualification processes, configuration management, and technical oversight. The practitioner actively engages in problem-solving activities to ensure that engineering objectives align with broader business goals, contributing to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate must possess strong domain expertise in aircraft structural repair design, with a specific focus on addressing daily in-service repair requests and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) events for the pressurized fuselage structures of Aerospace major's Single Aisle and Extra Wide Body fleets. Prior hands-on experience and a solid understanding of the Aerospace major's processes and methodologies are highly desirable, particularly in evaluating structural damages against Allowable Damage Limits (ADL). Candidates must demonstrate a robust technical understanding of both metallic (aluminum) and composite (CFRP) airframe architectures (including skins, stringers, frames, and bulkheads) and be proficient in using CAD and analytical sizing tools, specifically CATIA V5 (DMU interrogation) and ISAMI / ISAMI Xpress. Familiarity with modern digitized aerospace major's systems—such as SRM for Mechanics (SRM4M), Tech Request, ICC, and PASS SSI—along with the ability to navigate complex technical documentation (SRM, AMM, NTM, IPC) under EASA Part 21J Design Organization Approval (DOA) guidelines, is essential to successfully formulate and release custom Repair Design Approval Forms (RDAF).
Professional & Technical Skills:
Applicants are required to hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline with a strong emphasis on structural mechanics, fatigue, and materials science a master s degree is considered a distinct advantage. Additionally, candidates should have demonstrated professional experience in aircraft structural design, stress analysis, or fleet support engineering within an OEM, Tier-1 design supplier, or MRO environment, proving their ability to collaborate effectively under high-pressure, time-sensitive operational conditions.
