Position Overview
 

The Account Executive is a strategic growth leader who owns and drives expansion across a focused portfolio of strategic accounts. They operate as the primary orchestrator of the customer strategy, leading the Account Team Unit (ATU) to drive customer transformation, Autodesk platform standardization, and long-term business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Builds trusted executive and C-suite relationships and is viewed as a strategic advisor by customers

  • Understands customer industries, business priorities, operational challenges, and transformation initiatives deeply

  • Develops and executes strategic account plans aligned to customer business outcomes and Autodesk growth priorities

  • Leads complex, multi-stakeholder sales motions and navigates matrixed customer organizations effectively

  • Drives a strong hunter mindset by proactively identifying whitespace, displacement, and expansion opportunities

  • Owns strategic pipeline generation in partnership with BDRs and broader ATU teams

  • Leads and orchestrates the ATU across sales, technical, customer success, renewals, marketing, and partner functions

  • Balances short-term revenue execution with long-term customer growth and platform adoption strategies

  • Maintains strong forecasting discipline, pipeline hygiene, and operational rigor

  • Consistently achieves and exceeds sales targets quarter over quarter through disciplined execution and strong commercial leadership

  • Leverages partners strategically for scale and execution while maintaining Autodesk leadership of the customer relationship and sales motion

In addition, AEs are responsible for driving strategic account portfolio planning and prioritization. This includes:

  • Understanding the full parent-account structure and customer landscape across assigned portfolios

  • Assessing whitespace, business potential, competitive positioning, and expansion opportunities across child accounts

  • Prioritizing the highest-potential accounts and opportunities for focused engagement

  • Providing strategic direction, prioritization guidance, and feedback to BDRs to support effective research, outbound engagement, and pipeline generation activities

  • Quarterly and annual quota attainment

  • Pipeline generation and pipeline coverage ratio

  • Expansion growth across assigned account portfolio

  • Strategic account penetration and whitespace conversion

  • Forecast accuracy and CRM hygiene

  • Executive relationship depth and customer engagement quality

  • Autodesk platform standardization and multi-product adoption

  • Competitive displacement and new opportunity creation

  • Account plan quality and execution effectiveness

  • Collaboration effectiveness across ATU and partner ecosystem

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years of experience in field sales with Mid-Market / Large Customers

  • Experience in Go-to-market strategy

  • Experience in software solution selling
