The S&P Global MI Cloud Engineering and Shared Services – Platform Engineering team is looking for a skilled Security Operations – Specialist to join our growing team. We’re looking for an individual dedicated to enhancing the organization's security posture by developing, managing, and coordinating comprehensive security programs and cultivating capabilities. Their mission is to create robust security enablers, produce detailed documentation, purpose-built training, and facilitate effective coordination across various security initiatives.

We are part of a bigger Cloud Engineering and Shared Services team, which is fun, dedicated, and supportive, tackling complex and interesting technical and design challenges every day.

Working hours: Flexible, with a requirement for the selected candidate to partially overlap with CET time zone. It may rarely be necessary to participate in morning hours EST time zone calls.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive security programs within MI Business Lines and teams.
  • Monitor and report on status and effectiveness of these efforts.
  • Curate, create and publish training materials associated with strategic solutions focused on security.
  • Develop easy to adopt guides using centrally defined security documentation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Design, create and drive business intelligence reporting to capture gaps, wins, progress and overall health.
  • Design, publish and maintain automation, scripts or blueprints that support security operations, initiatives and data collection.
  • Provide engagement paths and technical expertise to enhance the security considerations aligned with organization standards.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels to ensure alignment and progress of security programs.
  • Partner with team for ideation and solutioning of an ideal future state for our security ecosystem.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience with 2-3 years of experience in security.
  • Understanding of security concepts, methodologies and practices and how to implement them with tooling.
  • Understanding of Linux and Windows server-side technologies.
  • Basic scripting programming language skills (e.g. Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Terraform) and SQL.
  • Fluency in using business intelligence tools for getting insights into state of computer systems and networks.
  • Ability to gather required data and being able to analyze it to achieve business outcomes.
  • Experience working with engineers, project managers and architects on security topics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. We use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Miro, Teams/Zoom.
  • Ability to build training content and documentation, using Confluence, SharePoint and by recording videos.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and technological concepts to peers and clients.
  • Continuous self-improvement mentality.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Desired Additional Qualifications:

  • AWS certification.
  • Security related certification.
  • Hands-on experience with security scanning, patching, analysis and policy enforcement tooling.
