As a Communications Manager, you will be responsible for producing editorial content for Cleveland Clinic marketing publications and electronic media. Ensure timely and efficient project management for communication projects in support of Cleveland Clinic health system marketing objectives. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Develop communication strategies for corporate and multidisciplinary projects, publications or collateral for various client areas including administrative, clinical, research and education institutes or departments.
Act as liaison between client areas and marketing staff.
Ensure deadlines and timelines are adhered to including overseeing deadlines of freelance writers.
Function as sole contact to specific institute or department leadership.
Collaborate with client areas and graphic designers to determine appropriate graphic presentation of copy.
Conduct interviews with physicians, institute/department chairmen, clinicians, patients and other sources.
Write and edit copy for newsletters, brochures, direct mail pieces, displays and other collateral materials, as well as speeches and copy for the Web.
Conduct secondary research for publication development.
Oversee enterprise-wide and multidisciplinary clinical projects such as annual reports and special one-time publications.
Serve on various committees throughout the organization.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English or closely related field.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in a communication/marketing function to include experience in writing, editing, researching and preparing material for publication.
An additional four years of progressively responsible relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Knowledge of communication practices in healthcare or another industry(ies).
Excellent writing, editing, grammar and proofreading skills.
Strong working knowledge of all forms of communication (print and electronic).
Effective interpersonal skills needed to conduct interviews with physicians, nurses, patients and people at all levels inside and outside the organization.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills.
Proven ability to design and proactively lead B2B communications strategies that drive visibility and lead generation.
Expertise in building thought leadership programs, including content, speaking engagements, and podcast placements.
Experience with proactive outreach to industry/trade outlets and conference planners, in collaboration with Corporate Communications.
Skilled at integrating communications into marketing strategy to amplify campaigns, strengthen visibility, and support pipeline growth.
Ability to track, analyze, and report on communications KPIs across media, digital, and event channels, using insights to refine strategy and maximize ROI.
Proactive leader, capable of driving initiatives forward, mentoring others, and elevating the communications function.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
In some locations, ability to move up to 15 lbs.
