JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provide support to the psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and nurses. Work under the day to day supervision of a licensed nurse. Position involves taking vital signs, drawing blood for labs, returning calls to patients, patient education, and other duties as needed.

NOTE: The qualified applicant will have BOTH a CMA/RMA certification and a Phlebotomy certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in notifying patients of the outcome of prescription refill requests in accordance with company policy.  Assist Physicians/NPs with direct patient care as directed by providers, nurses, and company policy.
  • Assist patients with completion of application for Patient Assistance Programs through pharmaceutical companies and with obtaining authorization for medications through Prior Authorizations with insurance companies
  • Provide lab services for patients by performing phlebotomy and collecting urine and saliva samples.
  • Assist in the management of CLIA waived laboratory including quality assurance testing, inventory, and other duties as assigned.
  • Work with the nursing staff to assist physicians/CNS with patient weights, vital signs, AIMS assessments, completion of lab requisitions, and entry of lab values.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level              

  • Certification from an Accredited Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) program is required

Certification/Licensure 

  • Phlebotomist certification is required

Years of Experience       

  • One (1) year of experience in mental health care is preferred

$15.75--$22.00
