Business Planning Solutions

The VP of Business Planning Solutions is responsible for leading and growing the business planning services offering of UMB’s Private Wealth Management. This includes advising UMB’s business owner clients on how to best meet their business planning needs and goals, specifically as it relates to their business exit strategy. This role will work closely and strategically with the delivery teams, as well as other bank partners, on the execution and scaling of business planning services within UMB’s Private Wealth Management. The VP of Business Planning Solutions will identify and implement new ways to expand the financial planning services offered to UMB’s business owner clients and execute on those initiatives while continuing to drive the Unparalleled Customer Experience.

The VP of Business Planning Solutions will have a proven track record delivering financial advice to business owner clients. They will be required to have extensive knowledge around business exit planning and advanced business planning strategies and techniques, such as selling to an ESOP, installment sales, buy/sell agreements as well as other gifting strategies. They will provide comprehensive analysis, pro-active financial, strategic and/or estate and tax planning solutions to Private Wealth’s current and prospective business owner clients. They will serve as a resource to the client delivery teams and management to provide education and training on relevant financial and business planning topics and analysis. They will be responsible for marketing UMB’s business planning solutions both internally to key stakeholders as well as externally to existing and potential UMB clients. They will protect UMB and its clientele by keeping financial information confidential. Will maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, continuing education and reviewing publications. They will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM:

  • 10 + years relevant experience working with business owners
  • Bachelor’s degree

PREFERRED:

  • CFP or advanced designation
  • JD
  • MBA

  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word & Access)

  • Highly skilled presenter of financial information and effective interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills of advanced planning techniques and strategies
  • Demonstrates ability to work with all clients & prospects of varied backgrounds & experiences

Work Environment

Hybrid Office Centric (60/40) with occasional travel

Potential Career Options: 

Supervision/Management:    subject to strategic build-out, vision and successes

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $83,200.00 - Maximum: $214,560.00
