About you and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious bachelor’s/ master’s student (m/f), to support our EMEAI Cost Accounting for Industrial Intermediates and Infrastructure( II&I) by doing an internship project in Inventory management optimalization for our location in Terneuzen, The NETHERLANDS.

Responsibilities
Inventory management optimization
This is a great opportunity to work in the Cost process and work together with different stakeholders in Manufacturing and Supply Chain in EMEAI but also in the US. The focus will be on different work process in the Global Cost Organization.
Discontinuation of Old Material codes:
• Identify materials linked to II&I businesses in EMEAI that have been inactive since 2021 or earlier.
• Create a SharePoint file listing all inactive material codes for supply chain, product management, and Plant Data Analysts to input their decision on discontinuation.
• Develop an automated message to prompt supply chain and other relevant parties to review materials with undecided status in the file.
• Conduct a review to check if material codes marked for discontinuation still have stock or are used as resources for downstream materials.
• Establish a process with supply chain or CPTC to open discontinuation tickets for selected material codes regularly.
• Record the ticket numbers for each material code set to be discontinued in the file.
Other Tasks:
• Compile a file of materials with errors (ZPC9) linked to II&I businesses in EMEAI and devise a method to resolve common errors in bulk.
• Review purchased materials concerning sourcing (SPK’s), freight costs (adders), etc.
• Examine produced materials with contracts and those with source (SPK’s) but no freight costs (adders).
• Assess bonded plants with duty adders.
• Create a central list of plants, including cost accountants, supply chain employees, and Plant Data Analysts for all EMEAI plants active in II&I businesses.
• Generate a file for purchased type(V) materials detailing all the Standard prices, add plant codes, and identify significant price discrepancies between plants per material code for sourcing follow-up.
This scope provides a structured approach for an intern to assist in the materials management process, ensuring efficient and informed decision-making regarding material discontinuation and error resolution.
Qualifications
• You are currently studying for a Bachelor/ master’s in accounting /finance.
• You have a good working knowledge of English (Dutch is optional).
You can start in 2024 for a period of minimum 4 months. (Exact timing to be discussed).
