Job Description:
The STAT Network is a peer learning network of over 600 state leaders in 53 states and territories who come together virtually to problem-solve, share best practices, and support one another. Established during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, STAT today drives non-partisan collaboration on a range of pressing public health challenges that is informed by evidence as well as a robust understanding of practical realities in each state. Weekly STAT topics include preparing for the respiratory virus season, skyrocketing STI rates, and the public health impacts of extreme weather.
The Associate Director reports to the Senior Director of Strategy and Innovation and coordinates, prepares and executes high-level meetings and sessions for 40+ participating states and relevant experts and federal officials in an iterative number of networks. The Associate Director works closely with the STAT Network leadership and other team members on program strategy, relationship building, staying connected with state response teams, facilitating responsive programming for network sessions, and driving problem-solving in between or beyond network meetings.
The Associate Director has solid public health knowledge, is a strategic thinker, can multitask and pivot priorities seamlessly, and enjoys managing complex programs and high functioning teams.
MPH, MBA, or MPA preferred, with three (3) to six (6) years of public health experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible programmatic and/or managerial experience
required, preferably in higher education or public health settings
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a complex and diverse community required
environment
Ability to handle complex topics and present them well
Track record working successfully in rapid-response environments
Some travel required.
Demonstrated capacity to work both collaboratively and independently, to exercise sound judgment, to switch between leading a team and effort and contributing to another, and to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills for translating goals into operations, identifying needs and developing innovative proposals, programs and project structures
