About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of St Vincent's Hospital.

Our intern pharmacist is crucial to the clinical service provided to inpatient and outpatient populations. With specialised services in heart and lung transplantation and drug and alcohol treatments, we give our interns opportunities unlike any other!

We provide support for interns through their intern training programs and provide opportunities to get involved in research and quality improvement projects.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Intern Pharmacist who possess a passion for person centred care.

Selection Criteria:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

2. Successful completion of a Pharmacy Degree and eligible for provisional registration with (AHPRA) plus ability to work weekends as per roster requirements. (You must upload a copy of your academic transcript as part of your application).

3. Good academic results and knowledge of pharmacology and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical situations.

4. Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including the ability to counsel and communicate with patients/carers and effectively communicate with other healthcare professionals at all levels.

5. Good understanding of the role of the Hospital Pharmacist and an understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of a pharmacist.

6. Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a member of a busy team environment.

7. Demonstrated initiative, problem solving ability and the ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and adhere to deadlines.

8. Demonstrated commitment to professional development, continuing education, quality improvement and research.
