The CommSec Data and Insights Centre of Excellence (COE) is a central Data and Analytics function under the Pace model that supports the delivery of Data and Analytics offerings and services at Pace. The COE’s mission is to provide trusted data, capabilities and actionable insights in partnership with our stakeholders to drive customer experience, empower decision making and safeguard our data.  ​

The Insights and Decision Science Chapter within the COE is responsible for CommSec’s Insights and Analytics functions. The team supports the strategic decision-making process of the business by way of regular reporting, campaign marketing and remediation analytics. We are also responsible for providing integrated online and offline behavioural insights, building analytics frameworks that help assess and drive customer engagement and building advanced analytics solutions and tools to help CommSec optimise its resources, improve its processes and minimise risk.

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for performing data analysis to support data remediations for CommSec in relation to Financial Crime incidents, and support the business stakeholders with ad hoc data requests. This role involves leveraging data to drive insights, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making within the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of CommSec data and systems to provide the business with crucial information to support Financial Crime remediation, including documentation of processes and controls.

  • Using SQL/Alteryx – design, prepare and build dataset that delivers targeted customer details and key data points for campaigns including remediation and marketing programs with Adobe MarTech knowledge a bonus.

  • Complete relevant project work stream deliverables including quality control/sign off for area of accountability

  • Perform detailed analysis of CommSec and Group data to provide the business with insightful information to make data-driven decisions

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Sound SQL Server experience and skills (preferably Microsoft SQL Server and/or Teradata)

  • Significant data, information management and analytics experience    

  • Be commercially astute, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work with large and complex data sets.

  • Demonstrated delivery experience as performing analytical work in high complexity environment

  • Influencing and consulting skills - the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
