Job Summary

The Software Development Manager will lead a team responsible for full lifecycle development of ZOLL's web and enterprise applications. In this role, this individual will develop web applications, APIs and data integrations for the ZOLL Billing product.
As the development manager, you will be responsible for managing software engineering and QA staff and working closely with the product team to organize priorities. A strong software development background, including a deep experience with web development, is required for this position. Initially, this will be a player/coach type role where this individual will assist in day to day development activities while managing part of the team.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees and manages software engineers, QA and/or consultants
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of software development and the ambulance billing domain to train, mentor and coach team members
  • Lead continued engineering, quality and team process improvement
  • Lead timely resolution to customer issues and escalations by working across internal teams and directly with customers as needed
  • Actively collaborate with other functional areas and teams to build alignment, resolve issues and contribute to overall product strategy
  • People management including training, coaching, and mentoring software and quality engineers (50%)
  • Hands on development including design, coding, testing, deployment and support of the ZOLL Billing product (50%)


Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology field or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent required
  • 5+ years experience in a professional software development environment
  • Experience coaching and training software and quality engineers
  • Experience with React (or other JS frameworks), C# and SQL is a plus


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Strong desire to understand the business problems that our technology is created to solve
  • Communicates openly and honestly and respects the variety of personality styles that make up the team
  • Experience with healthcare technology standards (EDI) or financial applications

The salary range for this role is 140K-150K . Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
