Lumentum Switzerland AG is a leading design centre of ultrafast pico- and femtosecond laser systems featuring excellent performance and long-term opto-mechanical stability. We seek an intern to work in a fast paced, international development environment. The position will be limited to minimum 9 months and maximum 1 year.

Job Responsibilities:

•Characterization and analysis of laser systems and opto-mechanical assemblies.

•Design and build beam pointing measurement and stabilization systems

•Collaborate with the process engineering and automation teams for instrument testing, lab measurements, and system validation.

•Use of test and measurement equipment for laser characterization (beam profiler, position-sensitive detectors, autocorrelators, power meters, spectrometers, oscilloscopes, optical and RF spectrum analysers, etc.)

•Analyse, document and present test data

•Write work instructions in English.

Requirements

:•Bachelor/Master degree in Physics, Lasers, Photonics, Engineering.

•Experience working with optical components, and optical alignment set-ups

•Experience working in a lab environment

•Teamwork orientation with good communication, documentation, and presentation skills

•Computer knowledge: MS Office

•python, MATLAB, LabView programming knowledge is a plus

•Self-motivated, able to plan tasks and small projects, to adhere to deadlines

•Fluency in English (oral and written)
