About the role:

In your role as Vice President, Financial Sponsor Coverage (Oceania) you will act as Coverage Banker for global financial sponsors located in Oceania. You will work closely with the APAC Managing Director to ensure strong coordination with all other coverage teams across APAC and globally as well as with product and risk teams who interact with respective sponsor clients in Oceania.

You will provide day to day coverage for these sponsors, engaging with client counterparts in capital markets and investment teams, help to understand and communicate client’s strategy and priorities, prepare account plans, identify areas of opportunity, support product teams, report on client activity and progress.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with the APAC MD to develop the overall financial sponsor strategy and priorities with lens on Oceania activity
  • Develop specific account plans for each sponsor client
  • Establish revenue targets for financial sponsors in Oceania and work with each product team to deliver on these targets through origination
  • Work with product partners to develop client strategic plan that will drive financial outcomes and business growth
  • Develop and execute detailed strategic account plans, primary relationship contact for Oceania sponsor clients, ensure excellent client experience
  • Providing leadership, clarity, and collaboration with other senior stakeholders

What we are looking for:

  • 8-12+ years’ experience in a similar coverage role or product including Leveraged and Acquisition Finance, Project Finance or Capital Markets
  • Undergraduate Business / Commerce / Law Degree from a leading university is essential. Masters of Finance, MBA or CFA will be considered favourably
  • Proficiency in the full suite of core Microsoft products, with strong financial modelling skills
  • Possess a strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Be able to engage in independent research and analysis of customers and markets and apply critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail
  • Has an analytical mindset and problem solving skills
  • The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
  • Has strong interpersonal and presentations skills
  • Is a team player
  • Is a self-starter who applies initiative and has drive and enthusiasm
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments
  • Previous experience in a leadership role providing guidance and mentorship to a developing team
