We are looking for an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our Austin, TX team. As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will be responsible for assisting with troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping and repairs on buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds and maintenance equipment for assigned facilities, with an emphasis on electrical maintenance and repairs. You will also support the Facility Manager in coordinating the routine activities of the maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with troubleshooting and repairs cleans, lubricates and services a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic devices.
  • Assists with installation and modification of production equipment systems.
  • Troubleshoots, evaluates and makes recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.
  • Possesses competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility maintenance.
  • Responds immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns.
  • Maintains and operates life safety/fire systems.
  • Performs assembly of production fixtures.
  • Practices safe work habits at all times.
  • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits.
  • Prioritizes daily work scheduling for self and other technicians.
  • May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or on call duties.

 Experience & Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years related trade experience in a production maintenance-related trade.
  • Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in the following areas, with an emphasis on the first three:  mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing and carpentry, or similar combination of experience and education.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
