Are you the type of person who thrives on leading complex global portfolios, enjoys bringing cross‑functional teams together, and takes ownership of driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence across an entire business unit? In this role you will manage a global Cutting Edge portfolio by guiding a cross-funcational team including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing; partnering closely with Procurement, Inventory, Operations, SIOP, and key suppliers; ensuring product availability and cost competitiveness; and overseeing full profit‑and‑loss performance. This role is responsible for achieving ROI targets, managing budgets, expanding market share, optimizing sales and margins, and strengthening business execution through coordinated collaboration across the organization. We’re looking for a strategic leader with strong business acumen, proven experience managing cross‑functional teams, and the ability to influence cost, performance, and outcomes for the Cutting Edge business unit.What You’ll Do
1. Direct the day‑to‑day activities of the global Cutting Edge business unit, continuously assessing performance, identifying opportunities, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, customer value, and financial outcomes.
2. Shape the Vermeer Corporation and Dealer business model to ensure dealers have what they need to succeed while delivering products and solutions that precisely meet customer needs across global markets.
3. Create differentiated products and accessories that unlock growth and margin opportunities. Ensure integration with segment machine designs and maintain a consistent cadence of new Vermeer Cutting Edge offerings that enhance competitive advantage and expand market share.
4. Identify, establish, and manage regional partners in collaboration with Regional Office Leadership to support custom product requests, reduce lead times, and ensure reliable product availability worldwide.
5. Lead SIOP processes for the Cutting Edge business unit to forecast demand, balance capacity, and align activities across the value chain.
6. Partner closely with Procurement, Production, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and supplier alliances to optimize cost structure, quality, delivery, and customer support.
7. Manage the business unit’s profit and loss, oversee budget planning, drive margin improvement, ensure responsible cost management, and deliver ROI targets.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or Supply Chain, with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the construction or heavy equipment industry preferred.
- Expertise in design, product management, supply chain, business management, sales, or customer support.
- Strong understanding of Vermeer industrial equipment and parts, including service, sales, warranty, engineering, and quality.
- Strategic, analytical thinker with strong structured problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to craft and communicate a compelling growth vision that inspires teams and drives continuous improvement.
- Proven success in achieving key performance measures, including customer satisfaction, business plan adherence, budget conformance, and warranty objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build open, positive relationships with team members, dealers, suppliers, and customers.
Travel
- Significant travel is expected of this position.
