General Description:
Under the direction of Nursing Leadership, the RN Manager is responsible for planning, direction and coordination of the Employed Student Programs to ensure quality healthcare is delivered, and student education is achieved. The RN Manager is responsible for creating a dynamic patient-centered environment, managing and developing teams with hands-on clinical duties.

- Leads, develops, coaches, and effectively manages the intern/extern, and other multidisciplinary student teams to ensure deliverables and performance metrics are met. Develops team to accomplish results through training, development, performance management and recognition.
- Responsible for the hiring, promoting, discharging and transferring of employees.
- Responsible for scheduling and staffing needs of employees and is available for patient issues and concerns involving an employed student 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Works with unit leadership to ensure strong channels of communication across all partners of the enterprise for a positive student/employee experience.
- Works closely with Human Resources for permanent recruitment and placement efforts.
- Responsible for data metrics of the program, and reviews and analyzes reports, records and directives.
- Monitors and analyzes costs, prepares budgets.
- Evaluates, develops and implements process improvements to enhance effectiveness.
- Works closely with department leadership, administrators and health care professionals in areas related to Nursing Recruitment and Retention programs and projects.
- Coordinates and facilitates dissemination of professional presentations and submissions for awards recognition.
- Develops and creates presentation materials including relevant data.
- Participates in the presentation and publications.
- Collaborates with academic/clinical nursing programs in onboarding of nursing and nursing support staff.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years RN experience with at least two (2) years in a healthcare-related leadership position.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Registered Nurse with current unrestricted Oklahoma RN license. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Strong influence skills and ability to motivate others.
- Ability to maintain integrity and trust among leadership and staff
- Proven ability to manage a team of professionals and lead a departmental function
- Demonstrated business acumen. Demonstrated business understanding and ability to balance people/ organizational decisions with business considerations. Experience using metrics to drive decisions and working with external vendors.
- Must be a strategic thinker, self-motivated and have excellent problem solving and project management skills
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple high priority deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of relevant nursing practices and processes.
- Requires analytical skills in order to research, design, implement and evaluate innovative nurse retention initiatives.
